Pre-charged refrigerant line extensions allow you to install your Zone mini-split system even when indoor and outdoor units need to be separated by greater distances. Our professional-grade linesets are pre-charged with R454B eco-friendly refrigerant, eliminating the need for vacuum pumps, refrigerant handling, or EPA certification.

Why You Need Line Extensions

Every Zone mini-split system includes a 16.5-foot pre-charged lineset. However, many installations require greater distances between the indoor and outdoor units. Common scenarios include:

• Outdoor unit must be placed on ground level while indoor unit is on a second floor
• Local codes or HOA requirements dictate outdoor unit placement far from the building
• Architectural features prevent shorter routing
• Installation around obstacles like garages, porches, or landscaping
• Desire to locate outdoor unit away from bedroom windows for quieter operation

True DIY-Friendly: No Special Tools Required

Unlike traditional HVAC line sets that require vacuum pumps, manifold gauges, and EPA 608 refrigerant certification, our pre-charged extensions simply connect via quick-connect flare fittings. No special tools, no refrigerant handling, no certification needed.

The pre-charged R454B refrigerant is sealed inside the lineset at the factory. Simply connect the extension between your included lineset and the outdoor unit using the provided fittings. The whole process takes minutes and requires only basic hand tools.

Two Extension Options

16.5 Foot Extension (ZL16.5) - Extends your total lineset length to 33 feet. Perfect for most second-story installations or moderate-distance placements. This is our most popular extension for typical residential installations.

33 Foot Extension (ZL33) - Maximum extension bringing total length to 49.5 feet. Features extra-thick 1/2" insulation for long-run efficiency. Ideal for installations requiring maximum distance or routing around obstacles. This is the longest we recommend for optimal system performance.

Installation Guidelines

While our pre-charged linesets make extension simple, proper installation is important:

• Route linesets with gradual bends, avoiding sharp kinks
• Support linesets every 3-4 feet to prevent sagging
• Protect outdoor runs with additional conduit in high-traffic areas
• Ensure proper drainage slope back to outdoor unit
• Use UV-protective wrapping in areas with intense sun exposure
