The outdoor unit is factory pre-charged with R454B (pre-charged) refrigerant, accommodating refrigerant line lengths of up to 25 ft. per circuit. If using a lineset that exceeds this length, additional refrigerant will need to be charged into the system during installation. This model can only be purchased with the 25 ft. lineset option. I installed one unit in the master suite (bedroom, bathroom, closet) and another in the main living areas (living room, dining room, kitchen). The only stuff you can see are some small linear vents - and that's it. You'd never even guess there's a mini-split system back there. Each zone stays exactly the right temperature on its own.
We needed some new heating and cooling for our 1890s Victorian, but we wanted to keep the place looking historic. These units got installed in the attic with little ducts going to these tiny ceiling vents - and the original plaster and trim are completely untouched. It operates super quietly and handles our crazy New England winters like a breeze.
Our architect was super specific about the HVAC - they needed it to be completely out of sight. This dual zone concealed system does just that - just some clean looking ceiling vents everywhere. We can control the temperature in the private and public areas separately - total luxury. It was worth every penny.
When we were renovating our high-end condo, the one thing we knew was that visible hvac was not allowed. Both units got tucked away in some closet spaces, with short little duct runs. And the result is like magic - invisible climate control with separate zones for sleeping and living areas. Our contractor was super impressed with the build quality.
Both units perform like a dream - super quiet, super efficient & totally invisible. But be warned - you'll need to put some real thought into how to get the ducting done right & where to put the units. I worked with an hvac designer & that really helped. If you want to hide your hvac with zone control - this is the system for you!
