Can I mix wall mount, ceiling cassette, and ducted units on one system?
Yes. Zone Air indoor units are cross-compatible with each other and with the multi-zone outdoor unit, so a single 27K condenser can run a wall mount head in a bedroom, a ceiling cassette in a living room, and a concealed ducted handler in a hallway at the same time. Each zone keeps its own thermostat and control.
How many zones can one outdoor unit run?
The 27K multi-zone condenser supports 2 or 3 indoor units with up to 36,000 BTU of total connected indoor capacity. The builder disables any combination that would exceed that.
Why can I connect more indoor BTU than the outdoor unit is rated for?
Multi-zone systems use a connection ratio. The outdoor unit is rated 27,000 BTU/h while up to 36,000 BTU/h of indoor capacity can be connected, because separate rooms rarely demand full output at the same moment. The inverter compressor shifts capacity to whichever zones are calling.
Is a custom multi-zone system still a DIY install?
Yes. Every configuration ships with one pre-charged R454B lineset per zone using hand-tight quick-connect fittings, so the refrigerant circuit stays sealed — no vacuum pump, gauges, or EPA 608 certification. A licensed electrician is recommended for the 230V disconnect wiring. Ceiling cassette and concealed ducted units add ceiling work.
What if my combination is already a listed bundle?
You get that bundle. When a configuration matches a system we already stock, the builder adds that product to your cart at its listed price, so the same hardware is never sold two different ways.
